I recently emailed the head of public relations of the Barclays Center Barry Baum to try to find out more about the arena and the possibility of hockey. I was looking to find out if they had a rendering, any games (college or minor league) planed, or just anything to do with hockey. Here is the response I received.
Hi Christian,
We cannot provide any renderings.
The Barclays Center can host professional hockey.
Capacity for hockey would be about 14,500.
I’m sorry, but I don’t have any further information at this time.
Barry
I'll stay in touch with him from time to time to see if I can find any new information, or to get a comment if anything breaks about the Islanders and the Barclays Center.
